This summer, dive into creative arts experience for adults at Rectory School, surrounded by inspiring landscapes and a supportive community. Participants can choose from a range of artistic programs with guidance from experienced faculty. Whether you're an aspiring artist or looking to refine your craft, this program provides a nurturing environment to explore your interests and develop your skills in your chosen medium.

Stained Glass for Beginner Adults

Step into the world of stained glass with our lively seven-week course, where you'll learn everything needed to create your own hanging masterpiece! From cutting and grinding to foiling and soldering, we’ll guide you through each step of designing a geometric stained glass piece. All tools and materials are included, with a variety of colors and textures to choose from. Get ready to create something truly unique!

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS, June 23rd to July 16th

Class open to ages 18+ only. Limit to 10 persons per class.

Experiment with alternative photography techniques that utilize the sun to create unique images. We will try our hand at creating cyanotypes (sun prints) on paper and fabric using found objects and paper negatives made from your favorite photos. We will also make our own pinhole cameras to photograph the beautiful scenes around Rectory's campus, which we will develop and print in our darkroom. Register today for a low-key, enjoyable photo-making workshop; no experience or camera necessary!

Creative Writing: Do you have a story to tell?
with Robert Oakes

During this six-week workshop, participants will be encouraged to delve into their life experience, accumulated knowledge, or wild imagination to compose original fiction or non-fiction stories. We’ll practice prompted free-writing as a way to find the words, memories, and ideas. We’ll seek insights, guidance, and inspiration from established authors. We’ll share our works-in-progress in a supportive environment and receive helpful feedback from our fellow writers, all while taking in the beauty of Rectory’s landscape, complete with gorgeous sunset views.
