The Howl Podcast

Associate Director of Admissions Jacob Guertin will interview students on various topics in each episode of The Howl. "I hope students considering Rectory or thinking about boarding school may tune in to hear authentic insights into boarding school life from those who know it best—our students!" Along with each episode of the podcast, Jacob will share his reflections in an article to help highlight specific points.

Episode 3: The International Student Experience with Shion H. '24

Our guest this month on The Howl is ninth-grader Shion H. ‘24, who joined the Rectory community back in the seventh grade. Shion’s story exemplifies the obstacles that students who speak English as a second language must face and shows how one may overcome them with hard work and perseverance. Shion came to Rectory to mature as a person and improve his skills in English, and he has accomplished exactly that. Listen to the audio podcast by clicking the play button below. Episode 2: Interview with Ethan H. '24

In this second episode of The Howl, I talk with Ethan H. ‘24. Ethan was a special student to sit down with. Not only is he a proctor on my dorm, but he is also the class president, elected by his peers. So, many students agree that Ethan is a strong role model to learn and seek guidance from. He gives a great perspective on how important his parents’ support was, as well as on all that he anticipates in his ninth-grade year. Listen to the audio podcast by clicking the play button below.
