Student Happiness, Inclusion, Equity, Leadership, and Difference

SHIELD was created organically when a group of students wanted to discuss equity and inclusion more thoughtfully at Rectory. Beginning in the spring term of 2019, the group convened each Monday evening to discuss topics diverse in nature, to include; sexism, racism, and LGBTQ, and analyzed how we were addressing such topics as a school. After meeting and discussing strategies to further educate the student body, the group presented their suggestions to the administration. SHIELD has some amazing ideas to ensure all voices are being heard and validated in the years ahead.

Who: Grades 8 & 9 (meetings alternate between boys, girls, and all)
Where: Wolf Den
When: Mondays 5:00-6:00 p.m. (7:30 a.m. in the winter term)
