Secondary School Advising
Secondary School Advising is an exciting, student-focused journey that officially begins during the spring term of a student's eighth-grade year. At that point, I meet with each student and start gathering information to help identify student strengths, interests, and passions. We recognize that each student’s path is different, and we strive to meet each individual student’s needs. We discuss a variety of options and decide, with the family, which schools will be the most appropriate for the ambitions of each particular student. I remain in close contact with each of them throughout the application, recommendation, test-taking, interview, and acceptance process. Through our work, the Advising Office is able to forge meaningful student connections that enable me to speak to the unique characteristics of each Rectory applicant. I love hearing about the growth and success our graduates experience along their educational paths.
We welcome sixty schools to our Secondary School Fair during Spring Family Weekend. This serves as an introduction for our eighth-grade families to the myriad of options that exist beyond Rectory. The schools are selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
