Prepared for What’s Next: Secondary School Advising at Rectory
Preparation for what comes next isn’t an afterthought—it’s part of the journey. Our Secondary School Advising Program ensures every student is ready to take their next step with confidence, clarity, and a strong sense of self.
Beginning in the spring term of eighth grade, students embark on a personalized, student-focused advising process designed to help them find the right-fit secondary school—one that aligns with their strengths, passions, and aspirations.
Through one-on-one meetings, we get to know each student deeply: what drives them, what excites them, and where they want to grow. Together with families, we identify schools that match each student’s academic goals and personal ambitions. From applications and essays to test prep, interviews, and final decisions, our Secondary School Advisor provides comprehensive guidance and support every step of the way.
This process is more than preparation—it’s empowerment. By the time students leave Rectory, they’ve developed essential life skills in self-advocacy, organization, and communication that set them apart in the competitive secondary school landscape and beyond.
Each spring, Rectory welcomes more than sixty top independent schools to campus for our Secondary School Fair, giving students and families the opportunity to explore a wide range of options and make meaningful connections for the future.
