FOR Rising First Graders

Horizons at Rectory School offers impactful academic and enrichment programs that encourage students from Pomfret and surrounding towns to realize their full potential.

Our Mission: To advance educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.

About Our Program

Horizons at Rectory School serves students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch in the towns surrounding Pomfret, CT.

In 2024, we are accepting applications for rising first-grade students for a 5-week academic enrichment program. It begins on June 24 and ends on July 26, 2024. Transportation is provided. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Rectory School campus, located at 528 Pomfret Street, Pomfret.

Students participate in academics, music, science, art classes, swimming lessons, and weekly field trips. Attendance for the entire summer session is required. Please apply for another year if your student can only commit to part of the 5-week program.

As a result of long-term participation in Horizons, students often feel a love of learning, improved self-esteem, better grades, increased school attendance, skills for success, and the inspiration to realize their dreams.
