Welcome to Rectory School

Learning with Purpose, Growing with Confidence

We are more than a school—we are a close-knit, purpose-driven community where each student is known, challenged, and encouraged to thrive. Our 138-acre campus in Connecticut’s Last Green Valley is home to a dynamic mix of day and boarding students in grades K–9, united by a shared commitment to curiosity, character, and contribution.

Rectory is intentionally designed—where small class sizes, personalized learning, and strong student-teacher relationships allow each child to grow with confidence and purpose. Our learning is active, engaging, and grounded in the science of how children grow and thrive, ensuring that each student is supported and challenged in ways that are developmentally meaningful. In every space—classroom, field, or dorm—our students are encouraged to show up as their true selves and explore who they are and who they’re meant to be.

Our difference is our community. We don’t just teach values—we live them. Guided by values of Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, and Compassion, students at Rectory learn how to lead with empathy, take pride in their environment, and grow through meaningful relationships. Here, students don’t just attend school—they engage deeply, contribute meaningfully, and build the confidence to chart their own path. Here, being part of the Pack means having a community that supports you every step of the way.

Rectory School’s mission is to provide students, from early childhood through middle school, with an enriched and supportive academic, social, and ethical community that addresses individual learning styles, aptitudes and needs while promoting personal self-worth and accountability.

We instill a lifelong passion for learning and are dedicated to fostering character development and a strong sense of community. Through a dynamic, student-centered environment, we empower our students to embrace challenges, think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate with purpose—preparing them to make a positive impact in the world.
