2020 Capstone Fair
Jamie Haines, Capstone Coordinator
On Monday, February 24, the ninth-grade class passionately presented their Capstone projects to faculty, students, friends, and family.

First implemented during the 2014-2015 academic year, Capstone provides an opportunity for our ninth graders to explore, and consider solutions to, issues that are present in today's society. In order to complete this project, ninth graders are paired with a faculty Capstone Leader who provides guidance throughout the process of researching, outlining, crafting a poster, and writing a reflection. This project culminates with a ninth-grade Capstone Fair, during which faculty, students, and outside visitors are invited to view and discuss these projects with the ninth graders.

Students exhibited data, facts, and statistics to a variety of societal issues including social inequality and racism, global deforestation, the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, and issues with American immigration. They also presented the solutions they devised- some reaching down to the local level of what Rectory could do as a community.

We are very proud of the hard work and effort our ninth-graders put into their Capstone projects and want to thank everyone who came out to support them in this endeavor!
