Richard C. Rose has been recognized by the Vermont
Woodlands Association and the American Tree Farm System as Vermont
Tree Farmer of 2007. His family's Sable Mountain Corporation lands
in Stockbridge, VT have been designated Outstanding Tree Farm of 2007.

Edwin Lane Dunbaugh died on August 20, 2006. Mr.

Buffum writes, “Thanks for
keeping us informed about the events at Rectory. Unfortunately we
weren’t able to get there for this year’s Alumni Day.” Robert and his
wife, Sydney, own and operate the Manasota Beach Club in Englewood,

David Brooks
reports that he is dining, oil painting, and singing barbershop in
chorus and with quartet. He traveled with his wife, Jo-An to Holland in

Peter Houston writes, "I am still working half time
(20+ hours) per week at Hanscom AFB technical staff to the Air Force. We
just became the proud grandparents of twins - a boy and a girl. It has
been an exciting year with all this taking place 4 April 06. Their names
are Ethan and Emily. I told my daughter Suzy, "Well done!" (1/08)

David Allen writes, “My wife,
Carol, married 27 years, died on January 5, 2008. Her death resulted
from a heart attack. We had moved into University Village Retirement
Community in Thousand Oaks, CA on September 18, 2007 and Carol was
enjoying the many activities here. I plan to remain here. We sold our
house in Cambria. Carol and I have made a number of new friends here and
their support during this difficult time has meant a great deal to me.”

wife Julie and I visited Rectory early in October."

Lucius Carroll II
visited The Rectory School this fall. He commented on the
transformation of the campus since he was last in Pomfret. He
and Mr. Army had an enjoyable visit.

Norman W. "Punch" Smith writes, "I am still living
in Charleston, SC area within 5 miles of all six grandkids. Mother
Phyllis is moving to our area from Creamery Brook in Brooklyn, CT."

Soper writes, “My brother John ’60 and I recently
attended the wedding of Michelle Soper. Michelle is the daughter of our
other brother, Tom ’63. The wedding was held in a ski resort in
Anchorage, Alaska the day after a foot of snow. It was beautiful!”

James K. Hill writes, "After 45 years since
graduating from Rectory, I find myself starting a new job with Edible
Arrangements International, Inc. based in Wallingford, CT -
approximately 50 miles from Pomfret! I am the Director of International

Daniel
Entwistle lives and works in
New York City and is the President of a commercial real estate firm. He
enjoys playing tennis and squash and will occasionally run into other
Rectory Alumni such as Matt Donaldson ’85 and Peter Reed ’85. (6/08)

Dave Angelis
and his wife, Deb, live in
Charlotte, North Carolina where he works as an insurance broker. After
leaving Rectory, Dave went to Gould Academy in Maine then to Nichols
College in Dudley, Massachusetts for two years. Dave finished his
education at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
He hopes to be able to connect with classmates and can be emailed at

child into the world on April 27, 2007. His name is Dean Pisani Howard.

Trevor Rees
is enrolled to take the National Outdoor Leadership
School’s River Instructor Course in the Yukon Territory this summer. “I
have taken on the responsibility of being a dog owner for an eleven
month old English Lab named Tucker.” Trevor teaches English and is a
favored dorm master at The Rectory School. He can be contacted via email

Anders Vercelli has
teamed up with his younger brother
Lars
Vercelli '01 and recorded a new CD that features Lars
as the lead singer being backed up y a swinging jazz quintet,
let by Anders, who served as musical director and producer of
the album. Also in the jazz quintet backing Lars up are several
faculty members from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in
Boston. Songs on the CD include: "Shadow of Your Smile," "What a
Difference a Day Made," "Our Love is Here to Stay," among other
classic jazz standards and two original songs written by Anders.
The CD will be available for
sale through the online music store CDBaby.com. Check Anders'

Lewis Merl graduated from
Pomfret School in June 2006 as the Valedictorian of his class. He took a
gap year traveling and working in Ecuador. He is currently trekking in
Bolivia and Peru and plans to enter Middlebury College in February 2008.
Now fluent in Spanish, he would love to get in touch with former Rectory
classmate

was named to the Dean’s List for the 2008
Spring Semester at Keene State College. Jared achieved a 3.75 GPA for

John McKinley
recently graduated from Salisbury School in Salisbury,
Connecticut. John received a Departmental Distinction in Visual Arts, a
course award in Forestry and The Richard Fromberg Award. (6/08)
2006
Jessica Graney writes, "Michael
Graney is soaring
with the eagles at Virginia Episcopal School. He has been in
the top fifteen in his class for most of the year. He received
the Spanish 1 award. His grade was never below a 98! He had a
role in the spring musical, "Hello Dolly" and had a great part
in the fall play, "The Bride of Brackenloch". He did not have
the lead but he was the star of the show. He ran cross country,
swam, (qualifying for the state meet in IM), and is cycling this
spring. He plans to take Spanish 2 at home this summer and take
Spanish 3 Honors next year. (All his idea!) He has been tapped
to take all honors and APs except English next year. At this
point, Michael credits the Rectory with much of his high school
readiness. His thoughts are all good about his two years
there. He is very happy!"

Gwen & Roald Haaland write, "Two years at The Rectory
School helped
Jamieson Haaland exceed our
expectations in both academics and athletics as he successfully
transitioned to E.O. Smith High School in Mansfield, CT this fall. He is
doing very well in cross country running and all academic areas. Our
everlasting gratitude goes out to all the wonderful "family" that is
Rectory's faculty and staff." (1/08)

Thomas Hamilton
recently visited Rectory to catch up with old friends.
Thomas completed his 9th grade year at Briarcliff High School
in Briarcliff Manor, New York. He has been on the high honor roll all
year. He is swimming and taking archery lessons – a love he developed at
Rectory during his 5th grade MELP. (6/08)
